Bryan, OH : Woman killed after motorcycle-deer accident on U.S. 6 near Bryan on Sunday, Aug 9, 2015
State troopers say a woman has died after being thrown off a motorcycle hit by a deer and then getting struck by a semitractor-trailer as she lay injured on the roadway.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the motorcycle was westbound on U.S. 6 near Bryan shortly after midnight Sunday when it was struck by the deer, causing both people aboard to fly off the motorcycle. Troopers say 34-year-old passenger Melody Bridges, of Bryan, was then hit by a semitrailer. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers say the truck driver didn't see Bridges lying on the roadway before hitting her.
The Highway Patrol says 37-year-old Solomon Meade, also of Bryan, was operating a 2001 Harley-Davidson. He was treated at the scene.
Investigation of the accident was continuing.
