LAKE WALES, FL : Tampa man killed in single car accident on February, Sunday 11th 2018

A Tampa man was killed Sunday when his vehicle rolled over in east Lake Wales.
Roberto Cesar Vilar, 50, died after he lost control of his 2005 Chevrolet van on State Road 60 East at River Ranch Boulevard at about 4:25 p.m., according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Vilar’s right rear tire either blew out or tore apart, causing the van to roll on its passenger side, Brian Bruchey, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said in a news release. Vilar, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the van. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin was contacted.
Vilar had two, 275-gallon plastic tanks filled with diesel fuel inside the van, which spilled as a result of the crash, the Sheriff’s Office said. The Department of Environmental Protection responded to the scene.
Excessive speed, impairment and distracted driving were not suspected as factors in the crash, Bruchey said
S.R. 60 was completely closed off between River Ranch Boulevard and the Polk-Osceola county line for about four hours during the investigation and cleanup efforts.
