QUINCY, IL : A three-wheel scooter was taken to Blessing Hospital after being struck by a car on Wednesday, August 9, 2017

A motorist riding a three-wheel scooter was taken to Blessing Hospital after being struck by a car at 2:58 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Fifth and Chestnut.

According to the Quincy Police Department, the scooter was traveling west on Chestnut. The car, which was traveling south on Fifth, failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with the scooter while turning through the intersection.

The scooter rider suffered no major injuries. The driver of the car was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign.
