CEDAR RAPIDS, IA : 2 hurt following 2 crashes at I-380 interchange in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, 8th January 2019

Emergency crews had a busy afternoon following two crashes involving four vehicles, both near the Interstate 380, Highway 30 interchange.Around 4:00 p.m., Cedar Rapids Police said officers were first dispatched to a semi that had rolled on the 30/380 northbound interchange. The driver had become stuck in the cab of the truck. Fire officials helped removed the driver who was found to be unharmed.

About 15 minutes after law enforcement had arrived at the first scene, a second crash involving three vehicles occurred in the southbound lanes of 380. Police attributed it to slowing and merging traffic.

Authorities provided medical treatment to two of the drivers involved in the second crash. Emergency crews took them to an area hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries.
