Tallahassee, FL : Woman killed in fiery crash near Kissimmee, troopers say on Monday, January 16th 2017

Troopers are trying to identify a woman who died early this morning in a fiery crash near Kissimmee.

The woman was heading west on Funie Steed Road approaching Sunset Lakes Boulevard about 3:25 a.m. when her 2006 Ford sport utility vehicle hit a raised curb on the road's shoulder, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said.The woman lost control of the SUV, which left the road and crashed head-on into a tree, according to FHP. The SUV then caught fire, trapping the woman inside.

Emergency medical crews declared her dead at the scene and troopers were working this morning to positively identify her.

Investigators were also looking into what caused the woman to hit the curb and lose control.
