Town of Lemonweir, WI : Two women dead, one man injured in I-90 crash in Juneau County on Sunday morning, August 7, 2016
Two women are dead and one man was injured following a crash involving a car and a semitruck Sunday morning in Juneau County, the Wisconsin State Patrol said.
Troopers said the crash happened at 10:21 a.m. near mile marker 72 of Interstate 90 between Mauston and Lyndon Station in the town of Lemonweir.
The State Patrol said an 86-year-old Hayward woman was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound with a passenger, a 45-year-old Hayward woman, when she struck a U-Haul trailer and crossed the median into the path of a westbound semitractor-trailer, driven by a 31-year-old man from Skokie, Illinois.
Both women were killed in the crash, troopers said.
The big rig driver was taken to Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston with non-life-threatening injuries.
Troopers are withholding the names of the victims pending notification of their families.
Officials said the crash remains under investigation.
