Abilene, TX : Two people die in Eastland County crash on Tuesday, December, 19th 2017
Two people were killed in a head-on collision Tuesday about 3 miles southeast of Eastland when a 2012 Freightliner wrecker and a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier collided in rainy weather.
The accident happened on Farm Road 2214 at 2:15 p.m., said Sgt. Fred Biddle of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Road conditions were rainy and wet, Biddle said.
Reports said the Cavalier was traveling south on the farm-to-market road while the wrecker was traveling north.
The Cavalier’s driver, Blanche Clarice Morse, 49, of Gorman, apparently lost control of the car on the wet roadway.
Morse’s car went into the northbound lane and crashed into the wrecker, driven by David Lynn Eaton, 57, of Eastland.
Morse was pronounced dead at the scene, as was her passenger, Sable Lynn Carpenter, 32, of De Leon.
Eaton and his passenger, Billy Jack Spurlock, 41, of Stephenville, were uninjured.
