Bay Shore, NY : One person killed in vehicle crash Suffolk County on Friday December 25 2015

Police say a man was killed as he tried to cross the street in his Long Island neighborhood by a driver who fled the scene.
Suffolk County police say it happened just after 5 p.m. Friday in Bay Shore.
Authorities say Emmanuel DeJesus Cruz Zavala was trying to cross Candlewood Road when he was hit by a car. Police say the dark-colored sedan that hit the 33-year-old drove away.
Investigators believe the car sustained damage to the front fender.
Emergency crews rushed Cruz Zavala to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
