Daytona Beach, FL : 1 killed, 1 critically injured in crash on U.S. 92 in Volusia County

One person was killed and another was critically injured in a vehicle crash Sunday morning in Volusia County.

Troopers responded to the scene around 10 a.m. Sunday. The crash shut down eastbound U.S. 92, near Red John Drive, in Daytona Beach.
The road was back open around 1 p.m.
A white pickup truck was traveling westbound "at a high rate of speed" rounding a curve when it began to rotate.

The truck then traveled across the westbound lanes, into the median and then crashed into a vehicle that was traveling eastbound, according to Florida Highway Patrol Master Cpl. Mark Kuczynski.

The driver of the pickup truck died in the crash.

The other driver, a female, was listed in critical condition and was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center, in Daytona Beach.

No identities were released as of 11:30 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
