Norwalk,OH : Man killed in auto accident on April, Monday 23th 2018

An Ohio man died in an automobile accident early this morning in Sandusky County.

Eric Daniels, 49, of Risingsun, was driving a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500 north on County Road 4, south of County Road 21, in Scott Township at 1:22 a.m. when the vehicle went off the right side of the road, said troopers with the Fremont post of the state Highway Patrol. Daniels overcorrected the vehicle, which then went off the left side of the road, struck a tree and caught on fire.

The GMC Sierra then became fully engulfed in flames. Daniels was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation. Due to the extent of the fire damage, it’s unknown at this time if alcohol is a factor in the crash, troopers said.
