Medford, OR : Rogue River man killed in Jeep crash near Wimer on Monday, 19th March 2018
A Rogue River man was killed Monday in a crash near Wimer.
Frederick Fernow Dale, 22, who lived in the 6900 block of East Evans Creek Road, was driving a black 2000 Jeep Wrangler northbound on East Evans Creek Road about 11:30 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a right curve just north of Minthorne Road, went up an embankment and struck a tree, according to a press release issued by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Dale was the only occupant in the Jeep and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
After striking the tree, the vehicle went airborne and came to rest upside down on the back side of a steep hill, police said.
Dale had just left his home, and excessive speed appeared to be a factor, but toxicology tests with the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office are still pending, police said.
