RAINIER, WA : 4 injured in crash involving suspected impaired driver in Rainier on Friday 7th October 2016
Four people were injured in a crash involving a suspected impaired driver, Washington State Patrol troopers said.
A 23-year-old man was driving west on Vail Cut Off Road Friday morning when he left the roadway to the right, troopers said. He then cut through a gravel turn out, failed to stop at a stop sign, and broadsided an SUV traveling south on SR-507, the patrol said.
The original driver's car continued after the impact, striking a light pole then ending in a ditch. He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital but his condition was not known.
Meanwhile, the 55-year-old woman driving the SUV along with the 13- and 14-year-old riding inside were also taken to St. Joseph's Hospital. Again, troopers didn't give any details about their conditions.
The 23-year-old driver is facing a charge of vehicular assault for driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, according to the State Patrol crash report.
