Rye,NH : Police give vehicle description for hit-and-run involving dog on December, Monday 18th 2017

Police have released new details in connection with a hit-and-run involving a dog this week.

Witnesses told police the vehicle was a newer-model, dark gray GMC Canyon pickup truck or a Chevy Colorado pickup truck. The driver is described as an older man, possibly in his 70s, with gray hair and possibly a mustache.

Around 10 a.m. Monday, police responded to the hit-and-run. Witnesses said the vehicle stopped initially after hitting the dog, then sped off down Sagamore Road towards Portsmouth.

The dog’s owner, Maggie Trainor, said the dog, an English springer spaniel named Maggie, suffered a broken back and had to be euthanized.
