A bicyclist died and a man was charged after a hit-and-run on Hilton Head Island early Saturday morning, authorities said.
Officers responding to New Orleans Road near Pensacola Place at about 5:25 a.m. Saturday found a man dead in the road and a damaged bicycle nearby, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Bob Bromage said. There was no vehicle at the scene when paramedics and officers arrived, Bromage said.
