The N.C. Highway Patrol is investigating separate accidents in which two people were killed.
A 77-year-old woman was killed Tuesday when her car ran over her in the parking lot of a Walgreens around 12:04 p.m.
According to a report by the patrol, Wanda Stevens of Clemmons had parked her car at the store, 12311 N. N.C. 150, at Hickory Tree Road, just inside the Davidson County line. The report said that after she exited the vehicle she realized the car was rolling. When she tried to get back inside to stop the car, she was knocked down and the vehicle ran over her.
She was pronounced dead on the scene.
