GARFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI : 2 hurt when driver crashes through electrical pole, causing car to catch fire on Saturday, 22nd June 2024

Two people were injured when a Michigan driver crashed through an electrical pole, causing the car they were in to catch fire.

The crash happened around 12:15 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024, on Cass Road, north of Dendrinos Drive, in Garfield Township.

Michigan State Police troopers were called to the scene and found a car on its side, the engine compartment engulfed in flames.

Officials said an electrical pole had been snapped in half, and there were wires hanging about six feet off the roadway.

Deputies and troopers put out the fire, but they couldn’t reach the occupants of the car because of the electrical wires.
