Lodi ,CA : One person killed in wrong-way crash along I-5 on Monday night ,August 10th 2015

One person was killed and five others were injured Monday night in a fiery wrong-way car crash along Interstate 5 in Lodi.

The California Highway Patrol said a driver was heading southbound on the freeway near Woodbridge Road and, for unknown reasons, veered into the northbound lanes, striking another car.

The first vehicle continued across traffic and rolled into an embankment where it caught fire.

The wrong-way driver, who was the only person inside the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Five people in the second vehicle were all taken to the hospital with minor injuries, officers said.
