A 23-year-old Planada man suffered major injuries in a suspected single-vehicle DUI crash, according to California Highway Patrol.

A 2003 Ford Explorer driven by 23-year-old Planada resident Mario Barragan was traveling east on Le Grand Road, east of South Mintern Road at 1:40 p.m. Saturday when it veered onto the right shoulder of the road for unknown reasons, CHP Merced Officer Eric Zuniga said.

The car then swerved to the left and overturned multiple times, Zuniga said.

Ramon Duran, another 23-year-old Planada resident in the vehicle, suffered broken bones and internal injuries while Barragan sustained moderate to minor lacerations, Zuniga said, adding that both occupants weren't wearing seatbelts.
