INDIANAPOLIS, IN : IMPD investigating fatal hit-and-run on southwest side on Saturday, 2nd September 2023

A man has died following a hit-and-run on Indy’s southwest side Saturday night.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to the intersection of Kelly Street and Lynhurst Drive just before 11 p.m. on reports of a hit-and-run.

Upon arrival, officers learned the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Lynhurst before being struck by a gray pickup that was traveling east on Kelly Street. The driver of the pickup fled the scene, but was found a short time later less than a mile from the crash site.

The driver of the pickup was arrested and impairment is believed to be a factor.
