Two bicyclists suffered serious injuries after a hit-and-run crash in Stevenson early Friday morning, Baltimore County police said.
About 6:30 a.m., police said a Toyota Corolla headed east in the 2000 block of Old Valley Road struck two bicyclists who were headed west. Police said the car struck the bicyclists head on and the driver left the scene.
Both bicyclists suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and are identified as Richard Frychel, 35, of the 400 block of Dumbarton Road in Rodgers Forge and Anthony Van Lierop, 40, of the 600 block of Overbrook Road in Stoneleigh.
Frychel was taken to Sinai Hospital and Van Lierop was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Police said the driver was located nearby and taken into custody, but that his name is being withheld until he is officially charged.
