SEEKONK, MA : Driver dies in single-car accident on Pine Street in Seekonk on Sunday, August 6, 2017

A 33-year-old man died after the car he was driving struck a utility pole on Pine Street at Brown Avenue Sunday night.

The name of the victim was not immediately identified.

The car rolled over onto its roof and downed power lines, preventing emergency crews from safely reaching the victim until the power was cut, according to police.

The accident occurred around 8:45 p.m.

Police said they found the man pinned under the vehicle with live power lines around the vehicle.
