Teen killed, 2 injured in New Hope wreck in Florence Alabama
Authorities investigated a deadly single car wreck that killed a teenage girl Saturday morning.The crash happened around 1:05 a.m. four miles north of New Hope, in the area of Poplar Ridge Road and Woody Circle. The Madison County Coroner said Erin Clark, 16, was the victim killed in the wreck. The coroner also reported that Tara Richard and Jallin Lang, both 16, were inside the car, and that Clark was a passenger. Richard and Lang were airlifted to Huntsville Hospital after the wreck.Alabama State Troopers confirmed that no one in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt. Troopers said the car left the roadway, hit a utility pole guide wire and overturned. At the time of impact, all three individuals were ejected, including Clark. Although the circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation, troopers said speed was a factor.The car ended up on its side after the impact. The wreck caused a power outage in the area that lasted over two hours.Lang was discharged, but Richard is still in the hospital.A prayer vigil was held for Clark at the Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ Saturday night.
