NOBLE TOWNSHIP, MI : Harris injured in crash on Thursday, December 22nd 2016

Branch County Sheriff deputies suspect Kip Harris, 50, may have fallen asleep as he headed north on Rierson Road just after 7 a.m. Thursday morning.

There were no skid marks on the dry pavement about 200 yards north of Southern Road where the Chevrolet pick up truck went off the left side of the road and head on into a tree.

Bronson Fire was called to extricate the driver from the truck. He was semiconscious with neck and head injuries when LifeCare arrived.

Harris, of rural Bronson, was taken to Community Health Center then transported to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne for treatment. According to reports, Harris suffered bruises, a broken ankle and fractured rib but is otherwise okay.
