TAYLOR COUNTY, KY : 1 dead, 3 hurt in head-on collision in Taylor County

A woman was killed and three people were taken to University of Louisville Hospital after a head-on collision happened over the weekend in Taylor County.

Kentucky State Police troopers were called to a crash on KY 55 on Sunday just after 4:10 p.m.

According to a KSP release, Allen Glen Yates, 60, of Columbia, was traveling north when he crossed the centerline of the roadway and went into the southbound lane of KY 55. That’s when he hit a 2021 Nissan Rogue traveling south.

Tracy York-Murrell, 39, of Columbia, was driving the Nissan and declared dead at the scene by the Taylor County coroner. She also had a 33-year-old passenger in the car and they’re expected to survive.
