LECLAIRE, IA : 2 motorcyclists killed in eastern Iowa collisions with SUV on Sunday, 11th September 2016
Authorities have released the names of two people who were killed when their motorcycles collided with a sport utility vehicle in eastern Iowa's Scott County.
The crashes were reported a little after 10:20 p.m. Sunday on the west side of LeClaire, on U.S. Highway 67. The Scott County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that the SUV crossed into oncoming traffic and struck two motorcycles. They were struck by a third motorcycle traveling close behind.
The Sheriff's Office on Monday identified the motorcyclists who were killed as 57-year-old William Bruce Griffith of Davenport and 59-year-old Ronald Gene Fox of Blue Grass.
A third motorcycle driver was treated at the scene. The SUV driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
