Cartersville, GA : Two people killed in motorcycle collision near Adairsville Wednesday evening, September 21, 2016

A late afternoon collision claimed the lives of a pair of motorcycle riders near Adairsville Wednesday evening.

At approximately 5:04 p.m. Wednesday, officials with Bartow County Emergency Medical Services, along with numerous other agencies, responded to an accident on Wayside Road near Veech loop in Adairsville.

The accident involved two motorcycles that collided in an apparent head-on collision. No witness reports from the accident were available at press time.

Upon arrival, BCEMS?first responders found two male patients, both already deceased.

The roadway was shut down for an extended period of time after the accident.

The cause of the accident is unknown and the collision remains under investigation.

The names of the two victims had not been released by press time.
