Queens, NY : 61-year-old woman dies in Queens hit-and-run on Thursday, 1st February 2024

Police are searching for the driver who struck and killed a 61-year-old woman in Queens and took off.

It happened early Thursday morning when the woman was walking on 90th Street in Jackson Heights.

The driver sped off on 37th Avenue, according to police.

Police said they received a 911 call about a motor vehicle collision just before 7 a.m. Thursday.

Police said the driver of an SUV was traveling on 37th Avenue when they struck the woman walking on 90th Street.


Officers found the injured woman, who was later pronounced dead at Elmhurst Hospital.

People from the neighborhood said the intersection is known for being extremely busy during the early-morning hours.

So far, no arrests have been made.
