Louisville, KY : Victim of Dixie Hwy crash ID'd as Ind. man on Tuesday, December 20th 2016

Police have identified the victim in a fatal car crash that led to closures on Dixie Highway Tuesday afternoon.

Charles E. Dodson, 59, of New Albany died at the scene from blunt-force injuries to the head, torso and extremities, according to a press release.

The accident was reported just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley. Officers responded to the 14600 block of Dixie Highway near the LG&E Mill Creek Plant, where a dump truck turning southbound onto Dixie Highway was rear-ended by a pickup truck that was also traveling southbound on Dixie Highway. Dodson, the driver of the pickup truck, its sole occupant, was pronounced dead on the scene. No one in the dump truck was injured.
