Paducah, KY : Brookport woman killed in rollover crash in Pope County on Thursday morning, April 6, 2017

A Brookport, Illinois, woman was killed Thursday morning when her vehicle struck a ditch and overturned.

Illinois State Police said Claudia N. Anderson, 18, was driving a 2002 Hyundai Sonata north on Bay City Road near Homberg Road in Pope County.

Police said Anderson failed to negotiate a curve, causing the vehicle to cross the southbound lane and drive off the roadway. The vehicle then struck a ditch and overturned.

Police said Anderson sustained fatal injuries from the crash.
