Vancouver,WA : Two taken to hospital after traffic accident on January, Sunday 28th 2018
Two people went to the hospital after a driver struck another car when trying to turn onto Northeast 112th Avenue from state Highway 500 Sunday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Troopers said Vancouver’s Dmitriy V. Lezhnin, 18, was exiting to 112th Avenue from Highway 500 shortly before 8 a.m.
Lezhnin was traveling at a high speed, the state patrol said, and his 2016 Acura TL couldn’t negotiate the rightward curve. Lezhnin drove over the curbing and into Vancouver’s Lowell D. Finstad, 81, in the northbound 112th Avenue through lanes.
Lezhnin was unhurt, the state patrol said, but a passenger in his car, Vancouver’s Vitaliy Lezhnin, 19, went to the hospital in a private vehicle for his injuries.
An ambulance took Finstad to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for his injuries. Neither man’s conditions were available Sunday afternoon.
The state patrol said excessive speed caused the crash. Clark County Jail records show Dmitriy Lezhnin was booked pending charges of reckless endangerment, attempting to elude police, reckless driving and two counts of vehicular assault.
The crash totaled Lezhnin’s Acura sedan and Finstad’s Toyota RAV4 SUV.
