Antioch,TN : Nashville man dies in fiery crash in Antioch on May, Sunday 13th 2018

Metro Police say a 49-year-old Nashville man is dead after a fiery crash in Antioch early Sunday morning.

Several lanes were closed for hours while emergency crews tried to figure out what happened on Bell Road near Interstate 24 just after 4 a.m.

Officials on the scene told News4 the driver of a 2008 Nissan Sentra veered off the roadway and hit a utility pole, which caused the car to catch fire.

The man was not wearing a seatbelt, but officials said there was no evidence that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Due to the extent of his injuries, the man cannot be positively identified until an autopsy is performed.
