Lynchburg, VA : Driver charged in Timberlake Road crash on Thursday, 20th October 2016

No one was injured in a two-vehicle wreck that slowed traffic on Timberlake Road near Wards Ferry Road on Thursday morning, police said.

Officers responded to the scene just after 9:30 a.m. Thursday, according to Lynchburg Police Department Sgt. Ronnie Sitler.

Imani Hubbard, 19, of Lynchburg, was attempting to make a left turn onto Wards Ferry Road from Timberlake in a 2014 Ford Fusion when she struck a 2006 Ford F-450 driven by Miguel Guillen, 39, of Bedford, Sitler said.

The impact sent the truck into a guard rail and utility pole, which then fell onto Timberlake Road.

One lane of Timberlake Road in each direction remained closed until the crash was cleared at about 10:55 a.m.

Neither driver was injured. No one lost power as a result of the incident.

Hubbard was charged with failure to yield right of way, according to Sitler.
