Largo, FL : Pinellas County deputy, driver injured in crash in Largo on Thursday morning, April 7, 2016

Authorities are investigating after a Pinellas County Sheriff's deputy and a driver were injured in a crash in Largo.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says in a statement that the crash happened Thursday morning.

Investigators say Deputy Sean O'Brien was on his way to a call to assist another deputy handling a nearby car crash. Officials say O'Brien turned on his patrol lights and drove slowing though a red light at an intersection.

Deputies say O'Brien was struck by 52-year-old Danielle Elliott, who was driving a Toyota Corolla. Deputies say Elliott didn't see O'Brien's emergency lights on and hit the passenger's side of his cruiser.

After the impact, Elliott struck an SUV.

O'Brien and Elliott were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The SUV driver wasn't hurt.
