Lakeland, FL : Two people killed and three injured in Frostproof crash on Tuesday night, March 21, 2017

Two people were killed and three injured Tuesday night when a 2000 Ford Expedition crossed over a grassy median on U.S. 27 near Frostproof and into the path of a 2006 Lincoln Town Car.

Jacquell Bradwell, 31, of Lake Wales, who was driving the Expedition, died of his injuries, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said.
Also deceased is Kathryn McKenrick, 71, of Edinboro, Pa., a passenger in the Lincoln that also contained her son and daughter.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Bradwell was northbound on U.S. 27 near Collany Lane in Frostproof about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday when he veered into the path of the southbound Lincoln.
Investigators have yet to determine why Bradwell crossed the median.
Bradwell's passenger, Angelica Hampton, 28, of Lake Wales, is listed in stable condition at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center.
Steven McKenrick, 44, of Lake City, Pa., the driver of the Lincoln, is being treated for critical injuries at LRHMC, as is his sister, Janice Servick, 49, of Maumee, Ohio.
Their mother, Kathryn McKenrick, was a winter resident in Sebring along with her husband, James, who was recovering from surgery at Winter Haven Hospital at the time of the crash.
