An elderly Aloha man died in a crash on Highway 6 east of Tillamook Saturday afternoon. His wife was airlifted to the hospital; no word from officials on her current condition.The three-vehicle crash happened around 1 p.m .Saturday, completely blocking the highway at the Wilson River Loop intersection near milepost 2. Oregon DOT announced the road was reopened by about 5 p.m.According to police, James and Anna Brennan (ages 79 and 78, respectively) were stopped in traffic in their Hyundai Elantra on the Wilson River Loop facing south, waiting to turn left onto State Route 6 eastbound.Officials said James Brennan pulled onto the highway in front of a westbound Chevy Silverado. The Pickup's 16-year-old driver tried to stop, but was unable to stop before hitting the driver's side of the Hyundai.The impact pushed both vehicles into a 2009 Chevy HRR that was facing east on Highway 6, waiting to turn north onto Wilson River Loop.James Brennan was pronounced dead at the scene. Anne Brennan was flown to a Portland-area hospital by an Oregon Lifeguard helicopter. Officials haven't released her condition.The teenage driver from Tillamook and the HRR's occupants, 41-year-old Francis Meetze, 34-year-old Brooke Meetze, and their 3-year-old son, were not taken to the hospital.*Editor's note: Oregon State Police initially reported that the crash involved a motorcycle. They have since clarified that it was related to a separate crash.
