YORK COUNTY, SC : Teen driver killed in York County crash on Tuesday, 1st November 2016

A driver killed after overturning and striking a tree in York County Tuesday afternoon has been identified as Eron Johnson of Chester.

The York County Coroner's Office identified Johnson, 17, as the driver Wednesday.

The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Mobley Road and Williamson Road in Rock Hill.

Troopers said the vehicle, a 2008 Lincoln sedan, drifted off the roadway, struck a ditch, overturned and hit a tree.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Toxicology tests are pending and Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
