Elkton, MD : State trooper charged with DUI after crash on Thursday, Nov 26, 2015

Maryland State Police have charged a trooper with DUI after a single-car crash in Elkton.
Troopers investigating a report of an overturned car went to Route 279 about 12:30 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release from the department.
Police found 26-year-old Trooper Thomas C. Hobbs inside the car. He was extricated and taken to Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware.
State Police say troopers charged Hobbs at the hospital with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol, negligent driving, and reckless driving.
The department says Hobbs is assigned to the aviation command as a rescue technician at the Frederick barracks. His police powers have been suspended and he is suspended from duty with pay.
