Winona, MN : Two people injured in bike, truck collision near Rushford on Saturday afternoon, April 8, 2017

Two people were injured when a truck and motorcycle collided on Hwy. 16 Saturday afternoon near Rushford.

William Joseph Starks, 46, of Altura, Minn., and his passenger, Cori Lynn Hollingshead, 45, of Rochester, Minn., were travelling east on Hwy 16 just before 1 p.m. on a motorcycle when their bike collided with with the Ford Taurus of Alma Eleanor Syvertson, 87, of Whalen, Minn., as she entered Hwy 16 from the south end of the Kwik Trip parking lot.

Starks and Hollingshead were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident, and both were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. It is unknown whether Syvertson was wearing a seat belt or not, according to reports.

The Rushford Police Department assisted on the scene of the accident. Rushford Fire and Ambulance and MedLink Helicopter with Gundersen Health System in La Crosse also assisted on the scene.
