Brockton, MA : Boy seriously injured in hit-and-run pedestrian accident in Brockton on Wednesday, April 20, 2016

The driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident that sent a 13-year-old Brockton boy to a Boston hospital remained at large Wednesday evening despite efforts to locate the individual.

The victim, who friends at the scene identified as Elias Lebon, 13, a seventh-grader at West Middle School, was struck at the intersection of Cross Street and Winslow Avenue about 1:23 p.m., according to the Brockton Fire Department. His condition was unavailable Wednesday evening.

The vehicle used in the incident – a white Kia Rio sedan with a shattered windshield and front-end damage – was later found by police on Chatham West Drive. The vehicle, which had Michigan license plates, was taken to Classic Towing on Main Street where investigators with the Plymouth County Bureau of Criminal Investigation were processing it for evidence.
