Boise, ID : One person sent to the hospital Saturday night in a four-car crash on I-84 on September 13th 2014
Idaho State Police is investigating a four-car crash on I-84 that sent one person to the hospital late Saturday.
The crash happened at milepost 36 near Nampa around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
Investigators say 18-year-old Edel Valdez was driving west and slowed for traffic. A second car, driven by 52-year-old Martin Marcias, then tried to veer left but hit Valdez's car from behind.
According to deputies, a third driver, 53-year-old Robin Hagaman of Nampa, was able to avoid hitting the two other cars, but then was struck from behind by a fourth car that wasn't able to stop.
Hagaman, the driver of the third car, was taken to St. Alphonsus in Nampa.
The crash blocked the left lane of traffic on westbound I-84 for around an hour while crews cleared the scene.
Deputies say everyone was wearing their seat belts.
