Brooksville, FL : Two people are dead following a head-on collision at Land O' Lakes On Friday, July 22nd, 2016

The Florida Highway Patrol says two people are dead following a head-on collision in southeast Florida.

According to a news release, 25-year-old John J. Stevenson and 24-year old Donna M. Adams of Lecanto, Florida, died at the scene after their Chevrolet truck drove into the path of a garbage truck Friday afternoon.

Stevenson was driving south on County Road 491 while the garbage truck, driven by 50-year old Vincent B. Iverson, was driving east on U.S. 98. After the collision at the intersection, the Chevy caught fire while spinning

before eventually coming to a rest on a shoulder. The garbage truck rolled on its side but Iverson, of Land O' Lakes, Florida, suffered only minor injuries.
