Norfolk, VA : Virginia man dead, 2 injured in wreck on U.S. 158 in Currituck County on Tuesday afternoon, June 21, 2016

A Virginia man was killed and two others injured in a collision on U.S. 158 Tuesday afternoon.

Thomas Edward Mays III, 34, of Lyndhurst, Va. was headed south on U.S. 158 in a 1999 Mercedes when he ran off the right side of the highway and overcorrected into the path of a northbound Chevrolet Suburban, said 1st Sgt. W. A. Crane of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

The collision happened about 1.5 miles north of the Wright Memorial Bridge.

Injuries to two people in the Suburban were not life threatening. Alcohol was not a factor.
