A Lincoln, Nebraska, man was injured Monday evening when his vehicle hit another from behind at an Ellsworth County intersection.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Troy A. Sternberg, 49, was driving a 2002 Nissan passenger car at about 6:30 p.m. on K-156 just north of the K-156 and K-14 intersection.
A 1998 Ford F-250 pickup driven by Andrew D. Hoelscher, 32, Ellsworth, was stopped and waiting for an oversized load to clear a bridge.
Sternberg's Nissan then struck the pickup from behind.
Sternberg was taken to Salina Regional Health Center with injuries.
Neither Hoelscher nor his 14-month-old passenger, Mia Hoelscher, was hurt.
The baby was properly restrained in an infant child safety seat. Andrew Hoelscher was wearing a seat belt, but Sternberg was not.
