Officials have released the name of the man who died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in Windsor Township, York County.

The victim has been identified as Richard Allen Zech Jr., 45, of Windsor Borough, according to the coroner's office.

York Area Regional Police said Zech was walking southbound on the shoulder of the roadway along the 2900 block of Windsor Road just before 2:30 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle traveling in the same direction.

"The operator of the vehicle stayed on scene and was cooperative with the police investigation. This accident is still under investigation," according to a news release from the police.
