Lincoln, NE : Semi-truck driver killed in I-80 crash on Sunday, 2nd October 2016

A semi-truck driver is dead after losing control on Interstate 80 near the Utica exit on Sunday, according to Nebraska State Patrol.

The semi was headed east when the driver lost control and crashed into a ditch just after 4 p.m. The semi then caught on fire, said patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins.

Eastbound lanes were shut down just east of the Waco exit and traffic redirected for several hours.

The driver's name was not immediately released.
