RAYNHAM, MA : Early morning tractor trailer crash causes fuel leak in Raynham on Tuesday, 6th November 2018

Chief James Donovan reports that Route 138 in Raynham has been fully reopened after being partially closed for several hours following a crash involving a tractor trailer Tuesday morning, and that a driver involved in the crash has been charged.

A fuel leak from the tractor trailer closed the northbound side of Route 138 from Elm Street to the Raynham IcePlex, for about four hours while the fuel was being cleaned up.

At approximately 9:20 a.m., the Raynham Police and Fire Departments received multiple calls about a two-vehicle crash on Route 138, near the Raynham IcePlex, 1568 Broadway.

The driver of a black BMW coup, Ricky DaSilveira, 28, of Taunton, was taken by a Raynham Fire ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

DaSilveira has been charged with OUI Drugs; Negligent Operation of Motor Vehicle; and Marked Lanes Violation. He will be issued a summons to appear in Taunton District Court for arraignment at a later date.

The initial investigation indicates that DaSilveira was driving erratically when he allegedly crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and struck front driver’s side of the tractor trailer. The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.
