Lawrence, KS : One dead after crash on K-10 in highway in south Lawrence on Tuesday, December 23, 2014

One person is dead after a crash Tuesday afternoon on K-10 highway in south Lawrence.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a tractor trailer and a passenger car collided about 4 p.m. near Kasold Road.

Details surrounding the event were unavailable at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday. At that point, investigators had been on scene for approximately five hours.

A release from the Kansas Department of Transportation said the westbound and eastbound lanes of the highway near the interchange would be closed while investigators were on scene.

At 8:45 p.m., a second release from KDOT said the road was expected to reopen in three hours.
