LUDLOW, CA : Cypress man killed in crash on Interstate 40 on Monday, 5th September 2016
The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s office said a 25-year-old Cypress man was killed in a rollover crash on Interstate 40, just west of Ludlow, at approximately 5:03 a.m. Monday.
According to the coroner’s report, Cody Brown was pronounced dead at the scene after his vehicle rolled over into the center divider. A CHP press release said Brown was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion, traveling west on I-40 approaching Crucero Road traveling in the No. 1 lane.
The CHP report said Brown allowed the Ford to veer to the left across the left shoulder and onto the descending dirt embankment. The Ford overturned, coming to rest on its roof.
Brown was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected, sustaining fatal injuries, CHP said. The two passengers exited the Ford and waited for emergency personnel to arrive. They sustained minor injuries and were not hospitalized.
The CHP said neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected factors in this collision, which is still under investigation.
