Pittsburgh, PA : Himrod man dies in Milo roll over crash on Sunday, January, 7th 2018
Yates County Sheriff’s Deputies report that a one-car accident Jan. 7 on Himrod Road in Milo, claimed the life of Lance B. Strong, 48, of Chubb Hollow Road, Himrod.
According to Deputies, Strong was driving west-northwest in his Dodge pickup truck when he lost control, went off the road, struck the ditch, and rolled over into a field.
Deputies say Strong was trapped under the vehicle after being partially ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Strong was the owner of a local contacting firm, IBS Builders, and the Crooked Lake Car Wash on Lake Street in Penn Yan.
Yates County Sheriff Ron Spike says Strong was also a member of the Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Club and very active officer in that organization. “We believe that was where he was coming from prior to the accident as they had a large fundraiser there for a local man,” says Spike.
“Regrettably, Lance was not wearing his seat belt, and we believe if he had been, it would have made a difference in the fatal outcome. As to why he lost control on the curve there, that is still under investigation. Speed could be a factor. The autopsy ordered by the coroner, Steve Culver, may help us in the further investigation of the cause.”
