Knoxville, TN : Pedestrian killed in two-vehicle crash involving a THP trooper on I-40 near Union Baptist Church of Halls on Tuesday night, December 1, 2015

A pedestrian was killed Tuesday night after getting hit by two vehicles, one of which was a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper.

According to THP, the incident happened near the Maynardville Pike and Copper Valley Road intersection shortly before 6 p.m.

Officials said the victim was in the southbound lanes when they were hit. A THP trooper who was responding to a wreck on I-40 also ended up hitting the pedestrian.

THP said they've yet to identify the victim and they're still investigating.
